I just installed everything and my buddies motorola phone connected just fine. I have a LG VX8100 and my dad has the 8300, I tried both phones. They both find the unit but fail to pair with it. Anyone have similar problems or know why it's doing this? any help will be greatly appreciated.

Not sure how you paired the two; however, it can be done. I have an 8300 paired with my D3 and everything works great except the voice dial prompts can't be heard through the car speakers (which is a pioneer defect...won't work no matter which phone you have) I am not sure if the 8100 will pair or not; however, I am pretty sure the 8100 doesn't have the object push bluetooth feature needed to get your phone book to transfer.....Good Luck!!
i dont think that your LG has the correct bluetooth profile thats compatible with the pioneer bluetooth profile. i had the same problem with my motorola e6 rokr. did u buy the phone from your local store and it was unlocked? the pioneer will find your LG phone but it wont pair up correct? you may have to buy a new phone or somehow update the bluetooth on the LG so it'll work with the pioneer bluetooth unit. sorry to give the bad news to you.
i got it to pair up and everything...i had to make my visibility shown to all, just havin a problem now transfering the contacts...i hit the transfer button and it disconnects the phone and then theres nothing on the screen to start the transfer. What should i do?
I am havin the EXACT same problem. I have complained on here plenty of times. I have the VX8700 from Telus and everthing works BUT when it comes to transferring contacts it wont go through. I think Telus has the phone crippled. Must be away to get this to work.
I had the same problem connecting two different lg phones you have to go into the bluetooth option on the phone and set discovery mode on. then use the d3 to search for the phone then it will see the phone and then ask for the pin after you have entered the pass code and the d3 shows up in the phone menu. select the d3 and the select options and set phone security to allow it to connect without asking for permission. Hope this helps. Good luck
