hello all first i bought a new Avic-D2. Way cool

After getting the avic working good i bought a used CDX-P1280 cd changer off ebay.

The problem is that the AVIC-D2 dosent reconize the cd changer. I hooked the IP-BUS cable to the avic and the other end to the cd changer, hooked up the power. Loaded a couple CD's in the changer and nothing. The mag. dose eject out of the cd changer with no problem, I hear it checking each slot for a cd. But the AVIC-D2 dose not alow me to chose the M-CD.

Is there a setting I need to change in the AVIC? Is the /cd changer broken?

Thank you for the help

sounds like ebay to me. if you have power, and the p-bus cables are plugged in all the way, then yes the changer is beat

Also check that the IP-bus is plugged in correctly. Blue to blue, black to black.

Well it should be pluged in right. The IP-bus cable can only be ran one way, the end of the ip-bus cable has the power harness that connects to the cd changer on one end only. And the other end can only plug into one port on the avic-d2. When i pluged both ends of the cable in they "clicked" in and were tight. Also i here the cd changer checking the mag. for cd's. Is there a resete button on the cd changer?

I also sent a email to pioneer about this matter and i will post what they say.

Again thank you every one for the help.

Ah, that's right -- changers are "end of the line". Forgot about that, sorry. Otherwise, I'd have to agree that it sounds faulty.
