i tried to put my avic D-3 in my expedition but can't seem to get it to go all the way in. it fits in but won't go back far enough, it sits out right much. what do i have to remove to get it to fit? thanks

The first step is finding out what's back there stopping it from sliding in all the way. Then determine whether or not it's something you can cut or move out of the way.

i don't know if it's the rca wires or something in the dash that's stopping it from going in. i was told to remove a metal bracket, but don't see one. thanks

i have a 99 eddie bauer expedition. i already put the stock head unit back in until i figure out what i need to do.

if its an older expedition your gonna have to cut away some of the defroster duct work to get a double din in there. was your stock radio a square block in the back, or did it curve down and get smaller?

it got smaller in the back.

then you have some cutting to do

the dash has plastic that comes down in the back but doesn't look like it would stop the D-3 from going in but i could be wrong. i guess i'll cut some out when i something to cut it out with. what install kit do i get for an expedition and where do i get it? thanks for the help
