Here is the problem I am having:
My connection screen shows the voltage as 0.0 and if I pull up the vehicle dynamics with the volt meter it shows it as 10 volts, which is as low as it can go. I am wondering if there is a wire in particular that the Z1 uses as reference voltage? My hot lead and accessory lead are both hooked up.
Now for a little background in the situation for those who love a good story. About a year ago a less than skilled thief broke into my car and tried to steal my Z1 by shoving a screwdriver into the side of it and prying on it...needless to say he got away with nothing. Of course prying on a piece of electronic equipment is bound to cause some long term annoying effect. THe result was that whenever I tried to eject a DVD I got one of three resultes: Nothing happened, the disc came out, or the Nav reset.
With that said I was tired of the problem so I pulled it out and tore it apart and found the connector that the eject button board plugs into had a couple of pins that were bent so sometimes they shorted out and sometimes they would eject the disc. After a re-aligned the pins and got it all back together I realized the volt meter was reading zero. On the plus side everything else is working like new.
Assuming I cant fix this problem is there anything the voltage readout does for the unit other than function as an advisory as to what your system voltage is?
Thanks for any help you can provide.
