Hi everyone, as the subject states I need some help in figuring out how to unlock the dvd drive on our display D3. I work at Circuit City and Pioneer sent us the demo dvd to lock in our D3 and we lost the instruction sheet on how to unlock it! I've tried various combinations including holding the volume button and rewind/back button while reseting the unit but no luck. Doing the mentioned process gives me a 'shadow' image saying 'please press reset' and I press it but still no eject? The real problem is we moved the unit on our display boards so all the settings we had were lost (namely turning beeps off everytime you hit a button) and we need to insert the navigation disc to access the initial set up menu. Those beeps are on full blast and I can't stand it! Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Did a search and found a few possibilities. I have no idea if any of them are going to work for you...

I believe it goes away once the unit sees a valid GPS signal that it can use for navigation.

EJECT LOCK MODE for DVD mechanism

In order to enter "EJECT LOCK" mode, reset start while pressing the "AV" and "INFO" keys together.

Pressing the "AV" and "INFO" keys until monitor backlight is turned on.

In order to exit "EJECT LOCK" mode, follow the same steps to enter this mode.

There is, apparently, a code that can be entered into the D1 to prevent the face from opening. It appears, from my talking to Pioneer customer service, that this is used in situations such as when the D1 is (was!) on display in a car audio store. The lock code would prevent anyone from potentially swiping either the navigation DVD or any CD that was in the unit. This code is supposedly entered by pushing some combination of buttons simultaneously....The code is apparently entered, according to the manual, by holding in the reset button while simultaneously pressing the AV and INFO buttons. I tried this w/ my D1, and it didn't solve my problem. But for some strange reason, when I went out the next (yesterday) morning, all was working normal again.

Anybody out there have anymore suggestions? I will try Pioneer tech support, but from reading previous posts they don't seem like much help! Thanks.
