Pioneer is now referring to multiple models of the AVIC-D3. Specifically, they now refer to the AVIC-D3, the AVIC-D3X, and the AVIC-D3Y. Also, some folks on here are starting to refer to these...

What's the difference among these releases/models?? Do the D3Y and D3X include "fixes" or upgrades that we should ALL be getting for free??

I'm starting to sniff a class-action lawsuit here....

No, they just include extras, like the D3X comes with the ipod cable and bluetooth unit. The actual D3 unit is the same.

Nope...as HiFiSi mentioned, you get the BT module, iPod cable, plus a remote with the D3x. Not sure what individual retail on these items is, but it seemed like enough of a deal for me, so i bought through crutchfield and got all the install goodies, too..

what all is included in the D3y system i haven't seen any around. Ive been thinking about picking up the D3x...thansk guys

Never saw a D3y...can't help ya there. Maybe it swaps the BT with an XM module? I can't believe that's not already an option. From all I've read about the problems with the BT module, I don't think I even want to waste my time installing it.
