bypass trouble

I didn't wire my harness or the bypass myself, got it used from another guy with a VW.

My issue is that the bypass worked no problem for the first few days after I installed the AVIC-D3... but now I got a warning on the screen when I was on my way into work this morning.

Think its wired bad?

The other thing I'm worried about... it came out of a VW that had a traditional e-brake, but my Passat doesn't have that, its got an electically controled parking brake, you press a button and it closes the calipers on the brakes. Logically I think the bypass wouldn't be affected by this, but I'm not 100%

Any help appreciated!

Thanks,

Brendan

Have you checked the ground? A few people had problems with the bypass because they didnt have a good ground

Will do, should be comnig off the yellow wire right?

Three wires should be grounded SOLIDLY, preferably to a chassis ground:

Ground wire (black)

Parking brake wire (green)

Mute wire (yellow/black)

The mute wire (yellow/black) should be moved to the slot above it in the D3's wiring harness. Make sure you didn't brake the clip off the pin and that it's seated firmly in the harness after being relocated.

After that is done, it WILL work.
