I love this forum, helped me out a lot :)

Here are my questions

1) I can't seem to keep my iPhone paired with the radio..

2) When I had it synced I couldn't do voice dial ?????

3)How does this XM traffic work? i called XM and got an account and everything I need and when I was on the express way and hit the traffic symbol it said" there is no info for this route" .. What am I doing wrong???

4) Any Tips or tricks?

3: The navtraffic needs a separate data cable to be hooked up from the XM tuner to the D3. Is that hooked up?

The iPhone doesn't support voice dialing so you wont be able to do that. Also, make sure you register your phone with the D3 and have auto connect on.

I believe the installer did it

The most likely issue is that XM Traffic didn't have any information for that route. You'll only get a response if they have something to report, like a slowdown or an accident. Although they advertise that you can see the current traffic speed for all routes displayed, this is a lie. Pioneer is prone to embellishment with their advertising.

I live in a semi-rural area now, where traffic isn't much of a problem (and there's no NavTraffic coverage, anyway). But when I lived in the Baltimore/DC area, most of the NavTraffic data was Master of the Obvious stuff. I-95 would show no problems on NavTraffic, but it would be gridlock. I'd have been in a jam for 15 minutes or more when I'd get a pop-up of "There is congestion ahead. Would you like to take an alternate route?" That would have been a great question half an hour ago.

In summary, the NavTraffic doesn't so much tell you what is happening as what has already happened. If I hadn't moved out of a congested area, I would have cancelled the service anyway.
