I had the IVA 205 for about 4 months, then in november the blackbird II came out, after about 1 week I sent the blackbird II back and sold the iva 205.
bought a D3 and a tom tom portable for when I rent cars.
I can say for myself the pioneer is a much better value and has more features.
The mapping is better and it is on a dvd which can easilly be upgraded, the blackbird??? dont know if an upgrade is even possible.
Ipod controls are better,
sound quality is better, more equalizer control.
more color control of the interface.
ability to play video off of the ipod,
the nice little plug on the front that not only acts as an analog audio input, but will do video as well with the right cable.
bypassing is also easier, no module needed.
also I like the fact that the pioneer has a knob for volume control.
as a portable unit, the blackbird leaves quite a bit to be desired, sorry, I waited 4 months for the thing to become availible, but unfortunatly it wasnt worth it.
perhaps the best reason for the d3 is the avic411 forum, you can get so much tech info here for free, I never found anything like this for the alpine.
I can go on and on,
with the prices on the d3 right now, I almost want to buy a second one.
good luck
