Anyone have issues with brightness?

During the day, if i need to use my headlights due to rain or snow, I can't see a damn thing on the screen if it's even a bit "bright" outside. It dims sooo much that it's hard to see. Is there a quick way to increase the brightness? I'm considering just eliminating the connection to the stock illumination wire and doing away with it altogether. I can change the map daytime/nighttime setting pretty quickly if it's necessary.

Go into the Video adjust menu and adjust your dimmer settings

Use your manual!

Thanks for stating the obvious  , but adjusting the setting for brightness affects it all the time. I don't want it extra bright during the day when it's not necessary, just when using the headlights during the day. I see that there is no way to make this happen w/o making permanent adjustments...so thanks for offering no help whatsoever, wpageabc.

You could always install a switch on the illumination wire, that way, when you have the lights on you can turn that switch off and the unit will think the lights are still off.

Go into the Video adjust menu and adjust your dimmer settings, not the brightness

Thanks for the input. I adjusted the dimmer setting and I can't find a happy medium between necessary brightness at night and one during the day when the headlights need to be on. I think I'll do the illumination switch when I install the SWC install...seeing as how it's not often when it's raining/snowing and bright enough to be an issue. When needed, I'll just flip the switch.

Again, thanks.
