My backup camera function stopped working, and I was able to narrow the problem down to a bad video input on the Z1.
(Non pioneer camera, I bought on ebay)

Called pioneer , they said it would be covered under warranty and I sent my unit out. They asked where I bought it, and immediately assured me that 6ave was authorized

3 days later they call me saying that I would have to pay $200 for repairs. Turns out the screen shattered during shipment and they though that was why I sent it in.
(even though I attached a detailed letter explaining what was wrong)
I did insure the box when I sent it out and but I knew I would have a battle gettting the $1600 insurance money from UPS

After talking for a few minutes with pioneer I found out they threw away my shipping box which we may have needed for the UPS claim. I was transfered to a manager and he decided it wasnt worth the aggrevation of going thru the UPS claim and offered to fix the screen and the backup camera issue FOR FREE. 8)

I also talked to the tech about the video distortion problem on the backup camera input and he said hes seen it a few times already.

On my paperwork they show replacing part number NJM2505F (IC other) and number CWX3236 (LCD Screen Control Assembly)

I have to give them props for the way they handled the situation.
Especially since it was beyond their control.
Very professional courteous and prompt.
They were very concerned with getting the radio back to me asap so I did not have to go without it.
Rather than just getting to it when they had time.

They said the tech would start work on it Monday 7-31 morning.
I had it back in my car by 5pm Wed 8-2.
Very fast turn around
Now Everything is 100%

nice to hear some good feedback, instead of bad feedback that we hear all day long.

did you need an invoice for warranty purpose?

i bought mine on ebay, so i got no invoice for warranty.

Check your warranty statement in your manual. The first line on "things not covered" or similar pretty well sums it up. You more than likely don't have coverage. I would go back to the seller on eBay and ask him if he's an authorized dealer and get an invoice.
