D3 Resetting Issue

I just installed a D3 in my 2002 Audi A4. After install (which was completed with a lot of help from this site) everything seemed fine. The nav adjusted itself and the bypass worked flawlessly. I even turned the car on and off several times and everything came back fine.

However when i left the car overnight and turned it on in the morning it was like it had been reset. It had to re-read from the disc. The backgrounds and colors I had set were back to default. Also the nav had to re-learn its position. Any advice or similar problems with anyone else?

Does your car have the function where once you turn the car off and remove the key, the radio can stay on until you open the door to get out? If so, that could explain why you were able to shut off the car a couple of times without the unit losing it's memory. My guess is that the wire that is supposed to have constant power is hooked to a wire with switched power. Did you have someone install it? If so, bring it back to them and have them fix it. Because it's not installed correctly.

No it doesn't have that feature. The stereo turns off as soon as you turn the key off.

does yours remember your home setting? because mine forgets everything except where my house is!

You have it installed wrong. Check what your constant power wire is connected to

Well whatever the reason for it is, the unit is not receiving constant power over the constant power input wire... If you had to use an interface module to make it work with the car, the interface could be faulty or not connected right.
