I had my Z1 for over a year in my F-150, I recently purchased a VW Passat 07 and had it installed by a local shop. I did not notice this until a half hour ago but my compass reads everything backwards i.e. north instead of south, east instead of west, you get the picture. Also because of this the map shows me driving backwards. Also the Speedo and other functions on that screen do not work, I have lateral but not much more. The shop said it is a calibration thing but I am wondering if it is installed correctly ro if the Z1 is all of a sudden bad. The F-150 calibrated almost immediately why isn't this? IKt was installed a week ago about 100 miles ago give or take.

Did you clear out the settings in the calibration menu when you put it in the new car? Did you ask them if they hooked up the reverse and speed sense wires?

it sounds like they may have also crossed the vss and reverse wires

I think I got it, I reset the calibration and before that reset the whole unit. It has been hit or miss for a couple of drives but it eventually catches up and puts me on the road and not driving next to it. I couldn't find my manual so page references didn't help out. Sometimes it had the map and me ( the arrow) moving with the compass but not moving on the map, if I just shut off the map and go back to it later it is fine. Thanks guy's
