Hello, I got my z2 put in finally, and I had the bluetooth hooked up. Well my phone connected, and it worked for the first time. But once I turned off the car, and got back in it again, the phone will not connects. It comes up saying something about link with HDD PIONEER etc. and I put the password in, and it says Verified and Saved, then I go to bluetooth and turn it on, then I press ok and it says searching for etc. and it will either keep searching or it will say unable to connect (I have a Razr v3m by the way)

Also, I downloaded the echo fix, and I was wondering how to update it, I put it in the drive and it reads the disc, but it does not start updating itself. I was wondering how to do this.

UPDATE: Well I did a stage 3 reset. When unit turned on it said bluetooth unit connected. Then I turned my phone on and turned on the bluetooth, and entered the password. I then pressed OK and it said searching for HDD PIONEER and wouldn't find it

So if I'm reading this right, you have bluetooth turned off while it tries to connect, then you turn it on AFTER putting in the password??

It shouldn't be that hard. What phone are you using?

I am using a RAZR V3m. No every once in a while (even if I am not near my car, my phone says something along the lines of sync with bluetooth, then I put the password in and it says verified and saved. Well if I get in my car, my phone don't automatically sync with the unit, so I turn on the bluetooth and it turns on (the zx2 unit says bluetooth connected) but i have to press ok for it to find the HDD PIONEER, and it finds in it, but when I click ok to connect it, it says "Searching for HDD PIONEER" and it just keeps searching, or it will just say unable to connect

Okay, at least it is a compatible phone.

It should not be doing this. My hunch is it's searching for discoverable devices and you're trying to connect to other people's phones or computers as they're in range.

Hell, sound like a bad paring. I'd do a level 3 reset, delete the Z2 from my phone, and start the whole process over again. Try pairing from the handset instead of the Z2 - that way it can't ask for the password.

No. Your library, address book, and phone book are only erased by a Level 4 reset. Level 3 erases settings and paired phones, etc.
