Hey Guys,

I used to own an AVIC N1, Got stolen, so i thought i would try a double din. I recently bought a D2 and had it installed at a stereo shop. We did the bypass and that worked, but the NAV will not work. It has me still on Hudson St. in New York. And when I move, the map doesnt even move. I took it back, and when I go to the Hardware Info and check connection, the GPS antenna says "OK" and reads two RED satillites instead of green satilllites. What do the red sats mean? Pioneer says to try a different antenna, and I did. Still no luck. They said it's a problem with the deck. I would really hate to send it to them and have to pay, ANY HELP??????

Thanks

Pioneer...said it's a problem with the deck.

They're probably right. =(

For testing purposes, put the new antenna ON THE ROOF, even if you don't intend to keep it there.

If that doesn't work, you could try doing a full reset and then manually setting your location - both can be found in your manual.

If it still doesn't work, you'll probably have to send it in.

True - If two antennas don't work, you can be pretty sure that the problem is isolated to the head unit...

I was under the impression that red sat indicators meant that there was a bad connection... Anyone know for sure?

In short, it's reception sensitivity. Pioneer has given us no "official" documentation on the exact colors, but given my experience with GPS, I venture say it's much more than that. (see the link).

For the record, all Pioneer says in on Page 69 in the manual, attached.
