Is the Navigation any good or as good as say a Garmin? I love my Garmin and I want to know if its worth getting this deck.

To be honest, I trying to decide if I should get this deck now with the rebate or wait and get the new 4000D witch is similar with out navigation but has USB built in. I did notice that the new one doen't have 3 pairs of RCA audi out just 2 so a totally amp system would have to Y off the front pair. Kinda cheesy. But the retail is around $500

Garmin makes the best nav. But for those of us that don't want shit stuck to our windshield, and want a CD/DVD/IPOD/Bluetooth capable/Indash screen/entertainment center, it works pretty damn well for the money. You are really asking us to compare things that are very different

had the Garmin 660, and before that several other excellent Garmin units.

For navigation Garmin is the way to go but I do prefer the mapping features and details on the D3, not so goofy looking more like real maps. On my 660 that's the one thing I didn't like compared with the 176 or even the older street pilots it's maps were a little basic.

Overall nac is much better on the Garmin but the D3 really isn't that bad.

Apart from nav the D3 has some nice features as already mentioned.

Actually, I have been pretty impressed with both from first hand experience. In my eyes so far.... from my experiences..... they're dead even.

I have both, well... had both, I sold the 260w, and have not missed it. The fact the N4 cuts off the music, than says the directions,, makes it worth my while. GPS wise, they are the exact same.
