hello all. so i got done installing the d3 into my civic last night. everything works well. This morning i decided to do the bypass. I skimmed through the bypass briefly. What i did this morning was cut the solid yellow battery power and grounded it. and did not cut the yellow ith black stripe cord to grown it. now my car is tripping out. the doors doesn't respond to lock/unlock. and the d3 won't turn on. ? im nervous... any help as of what to do. do you think it's a blow fuse or something... i knew i should have double checked this forum.

Dude... you grounded the main power wire. Which most likely blew the fuse, which probably supplies power to the door lock, as well as some other accessories. Hook that back up the way it was, replace the radio/lock fuse, ground the YELLOW/BLACK (mute) wire and the GREEN (parking brake) wire, and relocate the mute wire pin as shown in one of the 4 stickied topics with the bypass directions in them.

But in my opinion, if you don't know enough about wiring to the point where you're grounding a power wire, blowing a fuse, and risking electrocuting yourself or even starting a fire in your car, I'd do what the guy above me suggested and leave it like it is and bring it to a professional.

Umm, the bypass on the D3 does not require any cutting of wires. On the harness from the D3 that has the mute wire, you have to move the mute wire to the empty slot opposite of it. Then ground the wire with the green parking break wire.

Don't know about you, but if I'm working with anything over $300 in equipment, I tend to do a little more than just skim the instructions...

Yea, you CUT the wrong wire!

Ground the MUTE wire and NOT the power wire!

I bet you did blow a fuse, no biggie but get it fixed

thank you - you all. i got my situation figured out. --

i tend to like to do things on my own. you know learn as i go. This was a great learning experience in my part.

- i rewired the power wire- and grounded the mute wire and replaced the fuse. turns out i have a fused box under the hood. My system is back online. and im loving it.

thanks again.
