I went to do the 2 wire bypass on my new Z2 like have done on my D3 and my wiring harness is diffferent!
I do not have any available slots to move the mute wire as seen in soo many pics on here.
Any clue what I need to do?
You should have a total of 3 harnesses. The main power one, the one in the picture, and a third one. Find the third one and follow the instructions
Thanks, ON the D3 Ididnt have to move from one connector to the other, but I see it now I hve to actually remove it from one and place in the other.
Sure gets brighter when light goes on.....
THANKS
=D
Great!! I've been waiting for someone to post a pic of both cables at the same time. Best I could do was pinouts since my cables are already in place. Thank you!
To minimize confusion, technically you have the cables labeled backwards in the second picture. The mute wire starts in AV connector 1, pin 20 (upper left) and is moved to AV connector 2, pin 1 (bottom left).
Still, this is the most clear instruction I've seen yet!
I was tempted to buy a z2 bypass kit from ebay for $75 and stumble across this site because I read the negative feedback from one of the other buyers. This it the best instructional image out there. Thank you very much for posting the images, this has made my life a whole lot easier.
I have successfully install the z2 with the bypass into my 2004 Infiniti G35 Sedan. Everything works great.
You guys rock! If someone would of posted it like that before everyones life would of been so much easier....especially the guys that kept answering the same questions over and over again. Thanks a million!
I know you guys see these questions day in and day out. I'm a newbie here and I'm going to be ordering my Z2 here in the next few days. I want to have it researched before I go and order it. This link, http://www.sminntech.com/z1flash.html#newbypass, will work for the Z2 (07/06 Bypass) Is there anything else I need to do besides this?
Thanks in advanced guys.
nope that should do it
nope that should do it
Thanks.
I showed this page to my installer, he did it for me and it worked great for two days.......then everything was locked out again (moving and stopped).......then it worked again (moving and stopped)......then it didn't........now it does again. No parking break nags' anymore. Does this sound like the wire that was moved to the empty slot in the other harness is loose?
Because the wire must be pried out, it's not uncommon for it to be damaged while performing the bypass. It sounds like it's come loose for sure. Check it out, make sure it's in tight and does NOT come out when tugged on. If it does, a spot of carefully placed glue will fix you right up.
