Hi All,

I am new to the all of this and was wondering if someone could help me. I just bought an 08 Pontiac G5 SE Sedan, 4 door equipped with the drivers package (Ontario, Canada). I want to put an avic-d3 in. Has anyone done this for this type of car? Will it fit? The car comes with XM installed for three months. Is there a XM tuner already that I can splice into on the car or is it somehow built into the stock receiver? Will I have to purchase the Pioneer tuner as well? Also am I able to hook it up so I can use the steering wheel controls still. Like I said I'm new to all this so any help would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for all the questions.

Hey, I have a 2007 G5 and had an D3 installed and it works great....The G5 is relatively new, so it took a lot of searching to find the right parts. I work at Best Buy as a manager and worked pretty close with my car audio installer to find the right mounting brackets and wiring harnesses to make everything work. I'll ask him next time I see him what parts he used to get it going. I added XM and I'm getting the Bluetooth this week. I'll send you some pics of it if you want...

And yes, the stock XM tuner has to go in lieu of the Pioneer one. You can make the steering wheel controls work, I did not get that however. It's actually pretty easy to use without it. If you do want to know that, I can find out a cost for ya too and what parts you may need....

Thanks for the reply,

If you could get me a list of the parts that would be great, especially the mounting bracket. Also if you have pics I wouldn't mind seeing them so I can see how it will look.

Thanks
