Question I am getting ready to install a D3 in my 07 corvette. My question is this. I am installing a backup camera as well. How can I activate the backup camera at anytime. I know the hack will allow me to watch dvd's while driving and nav while driving. But what about looking at the backup camera.

Thanks.

You can select "rear view" for navigation mode. That will show your camera and a smaller nav screen.

Or you can just plug the rear camera video into the AV2 input and use it just like any other video input and switch to it in full screen at any time.

Yeah, while in NAV mode, press the button below "MAP" button on the left-side of the unit and select "Rear View" as withinavoid suggested.

HiFiSI, about the rear view camera. I will be installing a Avic-D3 into my new GMC when it arrives. I tow a 5th wheel trailer with a rear view camera so I purchased a new color camera that is compatible with the D3. If I wire it in directly to the back of the D3 can I just go to camera and get a full screen? Or is it best just to plug it into the front of the D3 in the A/V input? The front plug-in sounds a lot easier.

The front AV input and the rear AV input both do the same thing. You just run the RCA video cable to either of them, and when you select AV1 or AV2 as your source, the rear view feed should show up full screen. You just have to wire the rear view camera to a switched power source so it's not on them the truck is.

Check to see that the camera is powered by a wire that has power when the car is on. If you have your camera powered by the reverse wire in your car, the camera will only be one when the car is on reverse.

Thanks for the reply's guy. So I assume if i run the power of the backup camera to the aux power and plug it into the av2 video input then i will be able to see the car that my vet just spanked  . Is this right.
