i have the avic d1, and the screen will open for me to change a cd, but it only closes partway. in order to close it all the way, it needs some gentle "coersion". there's someone on e-bay claiming a fix for it for 119, but e-bay is a scam anyway. i'm not against opening the unit up if it's a motor issue. any ideas?

I have a D2 and mine just got stuck today. The face will not even budge. Let me know if you find a fix.

did anyone find a fix for this? or how to open the unit? i have the same exact problem as both of you

for the screen not closing all the way you may have hit the tilt button to set the screen at a different angle.. theres several positions it can be set too.

I had mine get stuck closed at one point and used the reset button to reset the unit and it worked fine afterwards.
