Okay folks, I've recently installed an AVIC Z2 into my auto and I've checked all the postings and can't find anything that applies to a problem I'm having. Hopefully one of you can help. Here's the problem...whatever I set in the AV Settings is not being saved for the next use. Also, the 3D calibration status in the MAP settings is also resetting after each power-on/power-off. I've changed the background screens and those changes remain. I've also ripped some CDs and they have stayed on the HD no problem. However, making any changes to AV settings such as: rear view camera - on, XM radio favorite stations, or sound settings are all dumped after turning off the car. I completed this installation myself on a 2005 Volvo XC90 (I've installed stereos/DVD systems on several other vehicles and "think" I installed everything correctly). Here are the components I have installed: ND-BT1, GEX-P10XMT, CD-UB100, and ND-BC2. I am also using the CANPULSE5 adapter to use speed signals, etc. from my Volvo's CAN system. All those signals are arriving at the AVIC-Z2 fine. Again, the only problem I'm having is that any AV settings keep getting dumped between power-ups. I appreciate any help you folks can offer.

sounds to me like you have the red and yellow wires switched.

Nope, that's not it. I checked that as soon as I first realized the AV settings were not being stored. I E-mailed Pioneer and they've asked me to call them, so I'll try that tomorrow. I'll let you know if it turns out to be anything worthwhile. :x

You're loosing the constant power(yellow wire) or ground(black wire) when you turn off the car. Use a multimeter to test these two while cycling the ignition.

Yep, you were both right. I had what I thought was a constant power source but it was only switched power. I hate being retarded! In any case, a few tries with the voltmeter and I found a REAL contant power source. Now the system is working fine. Thanks for the help.
