Hello,

I have been too happy with my Z2 and sirius adaptor since I purchased it last July telling everyone that will listenabout the aswome features etc etc..

Until this winter.

All was fine until late last month and then it all slowly went to hell in a hand basket.

Problems listed below:

1. Sirius went out - "Searching for signal" (I beleive the antenna went out due to extreme cold)

2. The GPS is getting extremely poor reception. It has my location 50 miles dead west of wherever I may be at any time. (Suspect the anetenna there too) (Thats about the time my head turned red and I was getting pissed off at the idea of hardware so cheap it couldnt withstand one midwest winter!!)

3. The Music library would be playing a song andthen strart skipping to other songs at random times on random discs then the system would reboot itself.

So far the FM tunner is the only thing that has not been adversly affected. It certianly looks as if I will be sending the unit infor service. (I ussually have better luck with electronics...LoL)

Any thoughts?

Undoubtably the Avic doesn't like the cold weather too much...as they mention in the user's manual, that the Avic will simply not power on if it is too cold. I do think the FM/AM tuner will play though...I just wonder if it has anything to do with some of what you're seeing.

I'm guessing that Pioneer purposely designed it to shut down in cold weather, so that it doesn't create moisture/condensation inside the unit, when it's components warm up...

Now if it's hot and freezing up, they did have an issue with a freeze, in which they have a firmware fix for. In which, I think, all they did was increase cooling fans speed when operating under loads...
