bluetooth phone MIC not too good

i recently installed the bluetooth phone service ND BT1? in my z1 AVIC. it reads fine and functions properly but my calls are absolutely terrible.

almost all the people i've talked to have said that it is

1) has too much echo

2) static is really bad and after 10-15 seconds they cannot hear me anymore

3) you can't hear my voice too loud at all on the receiving caller. it's pretty quiet and i need to really speak into the mic loud to be heard even decently.

i've placed the mic at a decent spot in the car's dash. it's not directly in front of my face but it's not in a bad spot to NOT pick up either.

i'm using the samsung A707 phone and haven't tried anything else yet. i don't think it'd be a phone issue.

any help would be appreciated, thanks

Do the bluetooth update:

http://www.sminntech.com/z1flash.html#bluetooth

That should help. Also try different mic placements and making the sound only come out of one side

yep, what he said, also, some sucesses with mic positioning in accordance with speaker configuration. Myself, if on the freeway in my subaru the road noise made it just impossible to even consider using. So take road noise into consideration too

yeah, theres an image just for bluetooth also, but it would 'help' a little bit. worth the try, the bluetooth image running around also changes the bypass for a z1

now if i bought one of the z2 UPGRADE cd's from ebay and installed it into my current z1.

will it make help with the mic/echo/reception issue as well?

if you were to install the upgraded cd will your songs and info still be saved or would it erase everything?

i think the light flicking by pass mod will get disabled right (i heard)? and you have to find another by pass mod besides the flicking of the lights?

There are instructions on how to do the 2-wire bypass on the same page as the link I left you a few posts above this one with the bluetooth update. Read it, its informative
