Questions for the knowledgeable on here...

Based on my reading for a Dbl-Din DVD/NAV unit, it appears that the Z2 'may' be the best choice out there. Maybe you experts can give me some alternatives... I am not locked into any brand or model... yet...

My desires are - which seem to be very hard to actually FIND a unit that can some of these still, amazing enough to me are;

1. Can play Sirius and display Channel, Artist and Title.

2. Can be a Nav unit and play music/Sirius at same time.

3. Can play DVD's in rear and run music/Sirius/rear-view camera on the front.

4. Can be bluetooth usable for modern cellphones such as my Tilt for hands-free calls. Auto-muting is a requirement for this, naturally.

5. Can play MP3 loaded CD and DVD's - and display the ID information in a usable on-screen presentation. Be fantastic if it could display the album art... but lets not go crazy...lol...let my 'complicated' cellphone do it for now. An internal hard-drive doing this seems to be beyond any manufacturers capability still....

6. Be controlled from my standard Nissan Armada steering wheel controls.

7. Would be great if it could play MP3's off a drive, thumb drive or SD and - again - display the ID information in a usable on-screen presentation.

8. And lastly - it needs to look good since it will cost a pretty penny.

The older Z2 seems to be the ticket over the newer D3.... but so much out there it is a bit confusing. People seem to have problems with poor or no display for certain media types, IPods that need to be unplugged and replugged in for functionality, video output restrictions based on Apple firmware loads, no display on USB drives past 8 letters, Sirius display is limited to one line or some such (only a D3 problem?), internal harddrive is not able to be used correctly for your own music collection - just burning CDs in a custom audio file format (gads.. they are still doing that crap???)..etc.

Again, I have looked at the D3 - but that seems to be even worse off when you look at its lack of hard drive, weird USB and Sirius capabilities, not to mention separation of video output from front/rear units, etc.

Is there anything out there that is better than the Z2, or is that as good as it gets...?

Thanks

1. Will show only one line of text at a time, you will have to press a button on the screen to see the others.

2. Yes

3. Yes, movie in rear will have to be run through headphones though if you want to listen to other sources, you can't split the sound front/rear

4. Check the compatibility list on this forum for your specific phone.

5. Plays MP3 CDs, does not play MP3 DVDs. No album art

6. Yes, with an adaptor

7. Not really, the Pioneer USB adaptor was designed for newer units, not the Z series

8. Yep

There really isn't anything that does everything you want but the Z2 seems pretty close
