Happy holidays...

Quick question. I have had an Avic Z1 installed in my toyota fj cruiser using ducatiboy's flasher circuit for some time, and it works great!

I did not upgrade to the Z2 nor did I do the bluetooth fix, so i am still old school.

I have the bluetooth module, ipod interface, xm module and I just ordered the hd module. The problem is....I cannot see the voice icon.

The microphone is plugged in, because it works with bluetooth. I also am using the pac ps steering wheel module that is hardwired to the avic z1. I can control volume, source, and tracks from the fj steering wheel.

But...I cannot get voice activation for navigation control to work because there is no icon. All troubleshooting tells me that the mic isn't plugged in, but it is...because it is workign with the bluetooth (complete with echo).

any ideas?

more info.

did a level 1 reset today...no change.

made a bluetooth call using the mic...it works fine.

??

mic may be loose at the rear of unit.

didn't pull it out to try that yet, but the mic is working 100% with BT?

if im not mistaking, i believe there is an option in the menu for displaying certain icons. Im not really sure if this is your problem or not, but its worth checking out.
