I'm going to be installing Z2 in the next week or two weeks. I've done headunit installs before, just none with navigation. I've researched and come up with that I'm going to have to do the 2 wire mod, as well as put a resistor in there to eliminate any popping upon shutting the vehicle down since I've got the "Shaker 500" system. The only thing I'm un-sure about is the VSS. The VSS in these cars isn't behind the dash, it's at the PCM. It's PIN3 on the top plug, it's a blue/yellow wire, if anyone else needs to know. However, how am I supposed to tap into it? Just use one of these?

Thanks in advanced guys.

Thats what I did about 2 weeks ago. No problem so far !

NOOOOO! never ever use scotch locks, they suck. t-taps and male spades are much more effective

Gotcha. I knew the "piggyback" wire taps aren't the preferred method.

Anyone wants any "scotch-locks" (the yellow one in the picture above... mine are black) I've got a bag full of them!

$2.50 to my paypal gets you 10 of them in the mail... PM me

Not had any issues with my installs (yet)

OK, so I've only installed on 2 cars but it's a reasonable average

about 90% of the alarms and starters i have removed and replaced over the years were originally installed with scotch locks. they just seem to loose connection over time

mine been on for 3 years not had to readjust at all yet... ine do seem to have a larger "barb" on them than the ones pictured though

ok, I've only got 36K miles on my car in 3 years but it is all start/stop driving around Hotlanta

It's an option... I've go a bag of them, not going anywhere, might as well try and make a little cash ... can't blame a guy can ya?
