AVIC-N1 opens to blank screen and all button do NOT work.

My AVIC-N1 powers up, opens the flip screen but does not show an image, none of the button on the unit work although they light up. I just bought a brand new AVIC-N1 brain, but did not solve the problem. Any thoughts. Your help is very much appreciated. Thanks!!

Get the ribbon cable replaced. Pioneer will do it for free

just go onto pioneer's site, get the info and send it in. I sent in just the n1 brain, and had it back within two weeks and it worked perfectly. Didn't have to include any kind of receipt or the brain. I'm in jersey, i think it was sent to ohio or something, can't remember. But it was really easy.

hi, is it possible to buy the ribbon cord from them so i don't need to send out my unit or do they need to take the unit aprt to change it? thanks in advance

I just installed my AVIC N1 in my BMW, I have had the unit since it first came out and had it installed in 2 other vehicles, I already got the ribbon replaced. However today (March 16, 2011) the screen went blank but all the buttons light up but do not function. Help please!!!!
