The AVIC-Z1 replaces any existing factory system with a double DIN in-dash opening.
This is a quote from the article. Apparently the AVIC-Z1 is more like the AVIC-D1 than the AVIC-N2. I bet it will be expensive, around $2400?

Yeah its double din, buts D1 won't even come close to comparing to the Z1, it's a insult to put them in the same category, feature wise:)

This is what it says about the prices "The AVIC-Z1 will be available in early spring 2006. Suggested pricing will be announced at the 2006 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, NV from January 5 through January 8, 2006."
