Thanks to this site I was able to install the D3 tonight with no problems with the bypass. My question is I have an older ipod which plays the video just fine when selecting it through the ipod but I remember someone saying if you create a playlist you can use the D3 to control some video? Does this just allow you to skip through the videos that are in your playlist or actually see the names of the video on the D3? I put some videos in a playlist and tried to skip through them using the D3 controls but it didn't seem to work for me. Does anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong?

According to the Pioneer website the iPod must be used for full control.

Thanks but I finally figured out what I was doing wrong. You have to turn shuffle off on the ipod then the you can go back and forth through videos in your playlist.
