Ok, also noticed after install I can no longer hear some of my local radio stations clearly. I checked the antenna seems to be pushed in all the way into the D3. Any suggestions?

Hook the D3's antenna turn on lead to the car's antenna amplifier wire.

Don't know what kind of subaru you've got, but this might help.

I take it that would be blue power antenna wire out of the unit? I capped it off since I didn't have an automatic antenna. Figured it was just a power lead to engage a motor. With that being said, I can't recall any other wires I didn't connect from the Subie either.

If you bought an aftermarket radio harness adapter (like the one in the topic i linked to above), it should have had a blue wire on it for the antenna amplifier power. That's what you would hook the power antenna wire from the AVIC to.
