So I installed the AVIC-D3 this weekend in my 05 F150. After installing it, the first thing I checked was the HD tuner (130GEXP10H Pioneer GEX-P10HD HD Radio). It worked great. Afterwards, I checked my iPod and Navigation. Both worked. I came in the house, activated my XM tuner (209XMD1000 XM Satellite XMD1000 and 209PIO110 XM XMDPIO110 XMDirect Pioneer Smart Digital Adapter).

I went back out and finished putting the dash back together. The AVIC unit sees the HD tuner and XM tuners, but I get sound from neither now. The HD tuner flashes the one preset station that I had set, then says ' Tuner ER". I have unpluged the HD tuner and tried the XM tuner. Then I unplugged the XM tuner and tried the HD tuner. In both cases they were directly connected to the IP-BUS port on the back of the AVIC and neither worked. The AVIC shows the correct tuner disappear when it's disconnected so I now they are getting power. I soldered both tuners into the lead to the cig lighter which still works. The fuse to the HD tuner is not blown either.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The IP-BUS cables are directional... make sure they are hooked up correctly?

Return that Terk garbage and just buy the Pioneer model, its $99. The terks never work right with Pioneers decks with screens

there's a single port on the XM unit. The cable end colors match the corresponding ports.

Head unit (blue) ----- (black) HD Tuner (blue)-----(black) XM Tuner

I also tried:

Head unit (blue) ---- (blue) HD Tuner

Head unit (blue) ---- (black) XM Tuner

None of these configurations worked. :(

You will never be able to use both of those together. The terk does not have a P-bus in/out so it confuses the shit out of the Pioneer. Buy the Pioneer XM tuner that was made to work with the Pioneer deck, follow the instructions so you know you have the cable plugged in the right spot, reset everything so it forgets that terk crap, and it should work fine. The HD tuner will show up as EXT1 if you have done everything right
