D3 - Rigging/installing a remote BT answer/hangup button

I have the D3, and the steering wheel controller. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-ARIP2zlyPy ... i=127SWIPS

I've also created a false cover for it, which looks like a factory stereo. And since I can control the ipod through the steering wheel controls, there isn't much of a problem just leaving the cover on all the time. (playlist info shines through the fake cover)

The problem I'm running into is how to take/hang up phone calls. I haven't found any way to program the steering wheel unit to the Acept/HangUp buttons. I'd be willing to go so far as buying the official wired remote for it, but there is only one wired remote plug on the back, and that is what the steering wheel controller plugs into.

So the questions are:

1. Can I run a Y on the wired remote in, so that both the wired remote and the steering wheel controller can be used?

2. Anyone have a better suggestion on how to remotely press the telephone accept/hangup buttons?

I'm not completely sure but maybe the pioneer remote cd-sr1 could work with the d3 to answer calls. The cd-sr1 is made for the z1 but has an answer/end button. If it does work with the d3, you could use a pac swi-x programed with the specific ir command to answer/end calls.

That's the quickest thing to come to mind.

i asked this q before and the answers came back as no and maybe.

never bough the cdsr1 to test so not sure if you can or cannot.

how bout you become our test mule? jk

but there aint any other way to test.

as far as i know d3 does not support the remote answer feature. so youll have to touch the screen...

and swix needs a direct line of sight so nothing better be obstructing the ir signal.

ive used the cdr55 and that part is annoying

if you can use a Y, id hate to buy the pionner steering remote just to answer calls.

I picked up the CDR55, its a no go. Pretty useless as a remote in fact, it doesn't do anything my steering wheel controls don't already do. (volume, input, mute, track+/-, that is it)

Good to know. Have you tested to see if the bluetooth buttons work for answering and hanging up calls?

Why not just answer and hang up the calls on the phone itself, when my blackjack is connected i can answer or hang up with the D3 or with the phone. Why need a remote when the phone is right there.
