Hey guys i just picked up a Avic-Z1 today, but it didn't come with the connector 2 wire,

will i need this for the headunit to work, or will it work without it???

Works just fine without it.

I had it installed personally for a good 3 months without it and it was fine. You basically only need it if you have a wired remote, or want to use A/V in or out.

My Z1 shipped without RCA harness #2 so I bought one on e-bay. I then contacted the seller I bought my Z1 through and they sent me another one. If you need that #2 harness I have an extra that I'll sell you...cheaper than they go for from Pioneer and on e-bay.

BTW - You need the #2 harness if you want to do the motion by-pass, which is why I bought mine. Well, that and because I have a rear screen for the young one

Great point! I was doing the flasher bypass back then and didn't even think of this.
