alright so i get this weird noise whenever i go to the Navi settings hardware info and select the one where it tells me my speed(not speed pulse) but it is only when i start moving? i do have the VSS wire hooked up and i soldered it pretty well, anyone know what this could be? clearly since its only when im moving its something about the speed. all help is greatly appreciated!

also when switching between navi disks is it normal for the unit to turn off and turn on real quick?

What kind of noise is it? Is it a beeping noise? If so, that's it telling you the speed pulse is being read.

And I don't know about the nav disk switching... I haven't removed the nav disk in such a long time.

When I switch a nav disk is goes to the black screen for a sec that says Pioneer Navigation System starting up....

Not sure about that noise though...

yeah it is the beeping sound i was hoping it was doing the "learning" or whatever.... thanks a lot guys

And yes the rebooting when switching map discs is normal.
