I have a 2006 VW GTI. I went to install my d3 in last night and after color matching ALL of the wires, i plugged the harness into the back and the fan turned on and it booted up! I did a few searches on here but couldnt find anything related to this. I found one on here talking about his battery being drained all the time but gave no indication that was the same problem i have. please help me gurus!

so ur saying u pull the key out and ur unit still is on and playing? are u sure u didnt cross the acc and power wire cuz that will do it

no i colormatched everything. even if the key is out it will turn on. it wont turn off!

That's because there is no accessory in your car. You'll have to dissconect the red wire of the avic and run it to an a ignition source. Be it at the fuse box or at the ignition harness itself.
