Hi guys

had a look and couldn't find anything similar.

Looking to buy a z1 soon for around 700$ and will bring it over to london, all i need to know is the limitations i woul dhave when using this. i.e could i get the maps for uk/europe anywhere and would the radio still be functional in the uk. Had a word with pioneer and they are not too sure.

Thanks

Z series only has maps for North America. there are no known hacks or upgrades to get maps/mapping in Europe.

There is a Z equivalent in Europe: AVIC-HD3. It's pretty much a Z2 but with the right maps. ... and for some reason the MENU button is red. lol.

And it has the European frequency grid for the radio, RDS and TMC trafic info, plus the correct region code for DVD's

thought so, just that i save over 3-400$ if i buy it in usa. Is it advised you reckon or just wait for their 08 range, only have around $800 to play with (thought carpc was too much headache to get right)

People still listen to FM? Wow... that makes me feel a little too young for comfort...

Yep, and that's also where you get the traffic info from...

TMC is transmitted via the FM RDS chanel (congestion info needed for automatic rerouting etc. )

I looked at doing this a year or so ago...search my posts and I think I found out that the Euro maps could be changed some how but a lot of other functions would not work so it didn't seem worth it in the end.
