When my ipod is hooked though the ipod adapter on the D3 is it outputting a flat signal to the d3 or is it using the ipods internal eq?

When my ipod is hooked though the ipod adapter on the D3 is it outputting a flat signal to the d3 or is it using the ipods internal eq?
