AVIC D1 COLOR CHANGING — AVIC411 Forum Archive

I thought I saw it somewhere here, but can't find it anymore. Has anyone tried to change the illumination color on a D1? Does anyone know the part numbers of the parts that I need? I want to go to the VW red/blue color scheme.

You will need surface mount LED's. Their very tricky to solder.

I found the part number for red...

SML-310VT

Does anybody know where to get them?

A company called ROHM makes them, but you have to be a company, university, research, etc to get them.....not for personal use.

Anybody have any ideas?
