I am VERY new to the Z2, and want to know if I'm making some elementary mistake. I used the windows drag and drop method to burn a data CD. I let it close the disc and went on my merry way to my Z2. I took the current DVD video disc out and I put the data cd in, it says its reading the disc or something like that for about 3 minutes, then says CD-ROM inserted and nothing plays. I put the cd back in the computer and the files show up again.

Lol welcome to Pioneer. The Avic only allows regular CD's to be played in it. so only about 20 songs or so. NO DVD filled with music, no MP3 CD's just plan CD's.

That's not accurate. It will play .mp3's burned correctly onto a CD-R. It just won't burn them to the HDD. See page 108 of the Z2 operations manual.
