Hi all,

First post :D

I just had an Avic-Z3 installed in my 08 Trailblazer SS.

Accessories installed were: the ipod and bluetooth adapters, the ND-BC2 back-up camera, a PAC SWIPS Steering wheel control adaptor and the Metra GMOS-04 OnStar adaptor.

Everything works great so far except 2 things...

1) I hear hiss/static type noise between commands/touch strokes. It's not very loud, and if music is playing I cant hear it but it's there.....

2) My door chimes have a slightly different tone now and has a really bassy 'thud" with every chime...

anybody every experienced these issues?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Rob

The commands have a sound associated with them. The sound is a WAV file that is initiated based on the on-screen command. That hissing sound is part of the recording sound from the WAV file. I noticed it too for the first time a few weeks ago, it's normal. It's the product of bad sound engineering when compiling the WAV file...no different from the files in your home PC.

Sorry, can't help on #2.

did they install an external amp? if so, the gain could be to high.

My Avic is not that noise button/key presses.
