New Z1 owner. Previous N1 owner

I just bought the Z1 from a friend for $575.00. I thought that it seemed like a no brainer. I currently have a N1 in my car and I am getting tired of having to put the nav disc in and take it back out for movies and cd's.

I am concerned that I made a wise purchase on this Z1.

Can someone help me to understand what the big differences are between these two units other than one is retracting and the other is a double din?

I currently have XM with my N1. Am I going to be able to keep all my XM hardware and just switch out the headunit?

Also, I have the Ipod adaptar. The newest version, just purchased 1 year ago. I hate the N1 compatibility with the Ipod. Is the Z1 going to be any better?

If someone can help me answer all these questions, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

the hardware should work fine with the new Z1 as for the i pod adapter imagine it will work the same but i don't know for sure i don't use an i pod.

All your stuff will work with it. There are a ton of differences between the two, you may want to check out the manual or Pioneers website to see what you bought

I've checked Pioneer's website. It doesn't give any in depth view on how well the I-pod interface is.

I'm happy to know that I won't have to go and buy any replacements for my xm or ipod. :D
