I just installed it in my 1999 Volvo V70. When you connect an Ipod, either my 2nd Gen Nano or a friend's Classic, it recognizes that there is an Ipod connected but it won't pull up the playlist or play any music. The ipod is charging, but there is no audio.

The cable connection is good, I've checked that several times. The cable itself is a Peripheral PICP.

Any suggestions?

I believe you have to use the actual pioneer ipod cable for it to work.

i thought about that, but to me, a cable is a cable. A couple of pins connected to some wires connected to a couple more pins. I didn't see any type of converter boxes or anything like that.

True the connectors are the same, but the pin locations may be different inside the connector that plugs into the back of the unit. Probably not though seeing as it's meant to be a direct replacement for the actual Pioneer cable. Maybe it's just a bad cable...

The Pioneer cable seems to work for everyone else on the site. Blow the $30 and give it a shot

It was the cable. Replaced it with the Pioneer cable and it works just fine.

I don't know if it was the brand or just that cable. What sucks is that the aftermarket one was still $30. They were out of stock on the Pioneer one so I bought the 'cheap' one. I'll try returning it.

Thanks for the help!
