I appoligize ahead of time for what may seem to be a lame question but I have read throuhg just about all the threads in the "Z series" forums and while I've learned alot about this system I'm still confused on one point....

If I buy a brand new AVIC Z2X system with a recent build date do I get the most current maps?? or the two yeard old ones???

Old ones. The most current maps are found in the Z3

Is there any way to get them on a z2?

Hack your hard drive and put them on. Or wait for Pioneer to release the update and pay $250

You can also buy a preconfigured updated z3 hard drive.

I'll put in a second plug for Garrett's drives. I bought one and it works well.

Any update for the HD3 (Z2) european version??

I know that pioneer launched the HD3II with 2008/2009 european maps and some new software updates, but I can't find any DVD update on pioneer.eu website! (only updates available for the HD1(Z1)!!!)

Ill put in the third plug... Garret is a stand up guy... hooked it up with no problems and had it in a few days.

I haven't noticed any "updated" map data from the Z3 image in SoCal. The street my office has been on since 2004 has the wrong name on my updated Avic. Tela-Atlas, yahoo, google and my Garmin all have the correct street info.

The Fourth Plug For Garret! Thanks For The HDD. Work Great and Had It In Two Days. Definitely Worth The Money. Thanks Again Garret! :D
