Hello friends. I just purchased a AVIC-z2, has the same date of manufacture of July 2007.

I have read some things, bypass (refer this to be able to view video while the car is in motion? And other stories.

Question: I earn if I upgrade the firmware version of the AVIC-z3?.

I have some HD biggest at home, it's hard to change the original unit by a bigger? listen to be paid for a license? as is this? .

Suppose, if clones from the original disc linux with the command "dd" and then resize the partition of the library? My idea is to have more space for music.

Thank you

Most people upgrade their drives to get the newest maps and (sometimes) graphics.

What you want to do with dd would probably work, but you have to be careful not to make your music partition TOO big. Some people have found problems with this. I guess Pioneer put a limit on how large your music collection can be, so keep that in mind.

But to clone the disk and then enlarge the partition:

We must unlock it and pay a license or $ 42?

You only need to unlock your drive if you're planning on using the same drive that came with your AVIC. You can buy another drive from Newegg or somewhere and just disable the security on it using MHDD before you put it in your headunit and upgrade that way. There's instructions on how to do this around the forum somewhere.
