I just purchased my D3 and I have a question. I bought the harness adapter and colormatched all the wires from the adapter to the harness on the D3. The unit powers up fine, but how come it does not shut off? Shouldn't the unit be completely blacked out and displayless/powerless when I go into the souce options and press off? When I do this, the screen goes black and in the top left hand corner, an icon says off, but lights are still illuminated and there is still an icon behind the word off. WTF!?

No, the unit doesn't power off completely until you turn off the car. This is so you can still receive navigation instructions, even if you want to turn off the audio/video source. If you want to power it completely off while the car is still running, just put a toggle switch on the red ACC power wire.

Don't you lose complete memory if you do that or it doesn't because constant(yellow) is still hooked up?

If the yellow constant wire is still hooked up, it keeps it's memory. Putting a switch on the red wire is exactly the same as turning the car's ignition to the off position.
