I was reading about the Z1 and found that it cripples some navigation controls such as canceling or changing a destination while the car is moving. I believe this lockout is mostly so that the driver cannot watch a DVDs while the car is moving so I am not sure why some navigation functions are also crippled but it concerns me that pioneer is so overly worried about any type of liability. Does the D2 cripple any functionality if the car is moving? Thanks.

Yes, it does. You cannot access certain functions while the car is moving, presumably for safety reasons. I believe there are hacks around this, that have been discussed in these forums.
