I just installed my D1 and did all the bypass stuff and it does not give the error message...but the screen only ejects half way covering up the slot loader for the DVD disc. Did I miss something where this is supposed to happen or is there something wrong with my unit?

Did you press and HOLD the open button ? If not it doesn't fully open.
