I just purchased an Ipod Touch 16gig mainly for the reason of watching video on my D3, but turns out that the D3 cannot read the video on the ipod touch. Ive done different things like turn off shuffle on the D3 and enable monitor output on the ipod but nothing seems to work. Anyone know a fix for this or if apple or pioneer will come out with a firmware update to enable this feature.

Also if this does not work im still in return policy for this ipod and hopefully someone knows the best ipod that will work with the D3 for video playback so i dont have these problems?

Thank you for any help and advice.

It seems the previous generation iPods are the last where video works properly. Classic users have been downgrading their firmware in order for it to work.

I think your only option is to run a cable to the front mounted aux port to watch video from the touch.

Good luck to ya!

In short, either return the ipod and buy an older model if you want to use the D3's ipod interface, or buy apple's $50 AV cable and plug it in an AUX jack and control it using the ipod.

this cable that goes into the aux jack where can i get this? i looked at some retail stores sites and only found RCA type plugs off the ipod cable connection.

^ that is the cable in question. You would either use just it and plug it into the RCA av input on the rear of the unit, or buy a component to 3.5mm plug adapter from radioshack or something to be able to plug it into the front AV input.
