Does anyone know if the Avic-F9's have a separate box (like the N1) or is everything in the head unit? I haven't seen any listed specs for a box. Sorry if it has been asked already. Man, I need some patience.

like everyone else says...i dont think anybody knows too much about it...just gonna have to wait to see one in the wild...not too much longer...at least i hope not!

i'd put money on it that it's a self-contained unit just like the D and Z-series.

Ahh...I didnt know the D's and Z's were self contained with no box. I had an N1 and never looked into the newer units until now. Good to know. The less wires I have to run, the better! I'm psyched for this thing.

Yep. Being double-DIN units, there's room for everything in there. Because the N series is a sngle DIN with a fold out screen, there wasn't enough room for all the internals which is why they had to utilize a separate box for all the electronics.
